Beating the TOEIC

Days: Saturdays

Time: 13:30 - 15:30

Class Code: ENG1

Many companies in Japan require their employees to take the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) to measure their employee’s ability to communicate in English. To be successful in a test it is important to be familiar with the design of the test. In this course, students will be given frequent opportunities to test themselves, to discuss the test questions and answers. They will also be given help in dealing with the new TOEIC writing and speaking requirements. This is a good course for people who wish to obtain a high score on the TOEIC or who want to improve their previous performance.

Teacher: Dr. Alan Brender

Dr. Brender is an educator with many years experience in Japan, who has written TOEIC test questions for ETS, the company that issues TOEIC tests, as well as presented TOEIC workshops for major Japanese corporations. He provided test questions for Sumiko Nakamura’s book TOEIC Test Listening Strategies. He also wrote the English sentences for her book 1000 Effective Vocabulary Words for TOEIC.
