Explore your creative side while developing better writing skills in this exciting 10-week course. Students will participate in several different creative writing exercises and workshops. In this class, you will have an opportunity to share your writing and get feedback from your peers. This class will also feature a close study of many different short stories from various genres. ※ An Additional textbook fee will be required.

Teacher: Mr. Joseph Shey Weaver

Shey Weaver was born in Anchorage, Alaska and spent his childhood living in many small villages including North Pole and Kotzebue. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in English. He also went to Relay Graduate School in New York City, where he received a Masters of Arts in Teaching. In NYC, he briefly worked on Broadway and played guitar, bass, and drums in several unpopular rock bands. Prior to working for Lakeland University, he worked for Tokyo Metropolitan University and Japan College of Foreign Language.
