The demand for Korean language and cultural, historical knowledge is increasing in Japanese society especially with the popularity of Korean TV programs and musical groups in Japan. The contents of the class may be adjusted depending on the level and requests of the students. In general, we will start each session with easy, but intensive Korean language. Students will start by mastering the 24 basic Hangul consonants and vowels, short dialogue patterns based on situations that they are likely to face while talking to Koreans or working with them. In principle, the class will be conducted in English; however, a moderate amount of easy Japanese may be used due to the characteristics of the Korean language. In addition to learning correct pronunciation and grammar, students will acquire insight into the Korean culture, mentality, manners, and cuisine. This course will provide students with a solid foundation in the basic levels of Korean language.
