In this class, students will learn about Russian culture, literature and folklore as well as the language. They will learn how to greet people, ask simple questions, order food and shop. The Cyrillic Russian script will be introduced. Emphasis will be placed on pronunciation by the native Russian-speaking teacher. Internet online exercises will be included with individual feedback provided by the instructor. Mr. Kotykhov uses real-life conversation examples to help students to start speaking Russian from the very first lesson. After a few weeks of study, the students should be able to handle a basic conversation in Russian, ask and answer simple questions, respond naturally and confidently to what native speakers of Russian are saying.

Mr. Kotykhov is originally from Krasnodar, Russia. He worked as an economist in the Central Bank of Russia and as a university lecturer in New Zealand. Mr. Kotykhov is now teaching Business and Economics at Lakeland College Japan, and he is also developing and teaching Russian language and business skills classes.
